Marcus Karlström extends contract with Mora IK

Defenseman Marcus Karlström will remain with Mora IK for another season. The 31-year-old signed the extension after the club raised funds through a supporter collection.

Mora IK announced the deal on Saturday. Karlström returned to the club last summer from Leksand and quickly became a key contributor.

Last season he recorded 11 goals and 24 assists in 51 regular-season games for 35 points. He ranked third in team scoring and led the squad in ice time with an average of more than 24 minutes per game.

Karlström has played more than 400 HockeyAllsvenskan matches. He previously appeared for Mora during the 2014/2015 season and spent six years with Almtuna before rejoining the club.
