El Partido de la Gente confirmó este domingo que entregará sus 13 votos para aprobar la idea de legislar la megarreforma impulsada por el gobierno. El acuerdo se reactivó tras la inclusión de la eliminación del IVA a medicamentos y pañales en la ley miscelánea.

Juan Marcelo Valenzuela, jefe de la bancada del PDG, señaló que el Ejecutivo cumplió su compromiso al ingresar la iniciativa. “Nosotros somos una bancada seria y técnica, de cumplir con nuestra palabra”, afirmó.

El parlamentario valoró que la devolución del IVA represente 100 millones de dólares para la clase media, un sector que según él nunca ha sido considerado por la política tradicional. El proyecto se daría cuenta este lunes en la Cámara de Diputados.

Valenzuela también respaldó la anulación de las elecciones internas del partido del 25 de abril por falta de padrones a tiempo, lo que consideró una señal de seriedad institucional.
