Prime Minister Abiy calls East Hararghe a natural wonders hub

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited Dire Dawa, Harari, and East Hararghe Zone to inspect development projects. He highlighted the zone as a hub for natural wonders and mineral resources. He specifically noted the Nasio Waasha waterfall as a site of natural beauty and untapped minerals.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) inspected various development projects and tourism sites in Dire Dawa administration, Harari region, and East Hararghe Zone in Oromia last week.

In East Hararghe Zone, he walked 500 meters along the Mala Balo River to view the Nasio Waasha waterfall. He stated that this waterfall represents one of Ethiopia's untapped mineral sites, as the country still holds vast unexplored wealth. The upper section features basalt-like formations with colorful basalt columns, and he noted that further studies are needed to describe its natural features.

The zone contains numerous waterfalls, hot springs, colorful birds, and minerals such as marble and granite. Despite existing developments, enhancing these natural assets could further benefit the local community.

In Harar town of Harari region, he observed the improved condition of the city wall. He remarked that Harar is on the path to reclaiming its historical name, grandeur, and cleanliness. The Harari people, without relying on external resources, collaborated with the regional government to beautify their city.
