Un minero de Bitcoin independiente gana 200.000 dólares con un equipo de 150 dólares

Un minero aficionado que utilizaba un dispositivo Bitaxe de bajo coste resolvió inesperadamente el bloque 957.382 de Bitcoin y reclamó una recompensa de 3,1382 BTC, valorada en aproximadamente 200.000 dólares.

El minero operó el equipo, del tamaño de una tarjeta de crédito, durante ocho horas a través del servicio Public Pool con una tasa de hash promedio de 995 GH/s. El Bitaxe de código abierto utiliza el mismo chip BM1370 que se encuentra en las máquinas industriales Antminer S21 y consume entre 15 y 21 vatios, ofreciendo de 1 a 1,3 TH/s.

Esta es la segunda vez que un Bitaxe individual mina un bloque completo en Public Pool. Los mineros independientes han encontrado 24 bloques en los últimos 12 meses, un aumento del 41 por ciento respecto al año anterior, con pagos totales de 75,44 BTC.

Otros éxitos individuales recientes incluyen un hallazgo el 29 de junio de 3,16 BTC en Solo CKPool y un bloque minado el 31 de mayo con 14 dispositivos Canaan Nano. La dificultad de minería de Bitcoin cayó un 5 por ciento hasta los 127,17 billones el 12 de julio.
