Políticos suecos de la UE tuvieron al menos 30 reuniones con grupos de presión del snus

Los parlamentarios suecos de la UE se han reunido con grupos de presión del tabaco al menos 30 veces desde 2024, antes de la revisión de las normas sobre el tabaco por parte de la Comisión Europea.

Una encuesta de SVT muestra que la mayoría de las reuniones fueron mantenidas por miembros de los partidos del acuerdo de Tidö. Jessica Polfjärd, del Partido Moderado, tuvo ocho reuniones, la cifra más alta en la comisión de salud.

Polfjärd afirma que es importante proteger el producto sueco. También declara que se ha reunido con representantes de ambas partes del asunto.

Jonas Sjöstedt, del Partido de la Izquierda, advierte que la industria tabacalera utiliza a los políticos como herramientas para abrir nuevos mercados. La OMS alertó recientemente sobre las propiedades adictivas de estos productos y recomienda normas más estrictas o prohibiciones.
