Swedish prospect Vilmer Salén Forsberg joins Brantford Bulldogs

Vilmer Salén Forsberg, one of Sweden's top goaltenders born in 2009, is leaving Swedish hockey to continue his career in Canada.

The 16-year-old has signed with the Brantford Bulldogs of the OHL after the club selected him 62nd overall in the import draft. He becomes the team's first import goaltender.

Salén Forsberg was recently chosen for Sweden's roster at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup under coach Thomas Paananen. He also played for the national U17 team and appeared in about 30 games for Södertälje SK's J18 squad last season.
