Two elderly found dead in Gustavsberg apartment

Police are investigating after two elderly people were found dead in an apartment in Gustavsberg on Värmdö. The discovery was made Sunday morning with no current suspicions of crime. A forensic examination is pending.

Sunday morning, October 15, turned tragic in Gustavsberg, a locality on Värmdö outside Stockholm. Around 10 a.m., emergency services were alerted to an apartment in the area after relatives could not reach the residents. Upon arrival, two people, both in their 80s, were found dead in the home.

Police have cordoned off the site for technical examination, but initial assessments show no signs of criminal activity. A police spokesperson in Stockholm states it involves an elderly man and woman who lived together. Neighbors have not reported any unusual sounds or events in recent days, suggesting the deaths may have natural causes.

Emergency services could not save the lives, and the bodies were handed over to the forensic unit for autopsy. This will provide answers on the causes of death. Värmdö is a quiet suburb with many elderly residents, and such incidents naturally raise concern in the local community.

Police urge the public to contact them with any information but emphasize there is no threat. The investigation continues, with more details expected after the autopsy.
