Victor Söderström signs with EHC Biel-Bienne instead of Brynäs

Swedish defenceman Victor Söderström has chosen a two-year contract in Switzerland over a return to Brynäs. The 25-year-old also left open the possibility of another NHL stint with the Boston Bruins.

Söderström played one season with Brynäs before signing a one-year deal with the Boston Bruins. He appeared in eight NHL games and spent most of the year in the AHL. Despite contact with Brynäs sport director Johan Alcén, the two sides never reached contract talks for a return.
