New York Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov underwent shoulder surgery and is expected to miss 5-6 months following an injury sustained in a game against the Dallas Stars. The 25-year-old was boarded by Stars forward Mikko Rantanen late in a 3-2 win on November 18.
