Bimbo's iconic Pingüinos reach more than seven countries

Christian Gaxiola, general manager of Bimbo Colombia, stated that Marinela's iconic Pingüinos now distribute to more than seven countries. On International Penguin Day, the company shared data on bread consumption in Colombia and plans for 2026, marking 30 years in the country.

Fenalco reports that 98% of Colombians consume bread, with nearly 70% doing so daily, highlighting the bakery market's strength. Bimbo reaches 77% of Colombian households, with bakery products at the core of its portfolio.

Paula Varón, Bimbo's snacks marketing manager, stated: “In 2026 we celebrate our 30 years in the country feeding Colombian households. We want to respond to current trends with simpler options.” The product, born in Colombia over a decade ago, is present in countries including Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Spain, and Colombia, with equivalents elsewhere, exceeding 20 countries total.

The company advances in nutrition: 94% of its daily consumption portfolio scores 3.5 stars or higher on Health Star Rating, 100% is free of artificial colors, and 99% without artificial flavorings. Bimbo plans innovations like Artesano con Masa Madre to solidify its leadership.
