Alimentarte marks 25th edition with tribute to Colombia's Pacific region

The Alimentarte gastronomic festival returns to Bogotá for its 25th edition, highlighting Colombia's culinary diversity with a special tribute to the Pacific region. Held over two weekends in February, the event directs its proceeds to social causes via the Fundación Corazón Verde.

Bogotá hosts a new edition of Alimentarte, the renowned gastronomic festival that blends flavor, culture, and solidarity. Scheduled for the weekends of February 7 and 8, and February 14 and 15, the event will take place at Parque El Country from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. With a ticket price of $13,000, it expects to draw around 40,000 attendees.

This 25th edition pays tribute to Colombia's Pacific region while celebrating the country's nine gastronomic regions: Pacific, San Andrés and Islands, Caribbean Region, Santanderes, Antioquia, Caldas, Amazon Region, Orinoquía, Greater Tolima, Cundiboyacense Highlands, and Bogotá. Over 120 exhibitors will participate, including 70 of the city's top restaurants, 12 from sustainable product gastronomic markets, and more than 40 startups in collaboration with the Secretariat of Economic Development.

"We will pay homage to the nine gastronomic regions of the country, so we'll have an incredible tent, it's like Colombia on the table, where we'll find diversity of products from these nine regions, and we'll also pay homage to our Colombian identity, that's why there are traditional games like tejo, boli rana; typical products and many activities for children. It's a spectacular, super family event," explained Paula Villada Vélez, executive director of the Fundación Corazón Verde.

Since its inception, Alimentarte has served as a tool for social transformation. All surpluses are directed to the programs of the Fundación Corazón Verde, which supports widows and orphans of police officers with disabilities, as well as victims of violence in Colombia. Over its editions, it has delivered more than 370 housing solutions, educated over 8,600 orphaned children of police officers, and provided psychological support to more than 8,000 families. It also generates economic impact by creating direct and indirect jobs and strengthening the gastronomic and cultural sectors.

"For the last 25 years, Alimentarte Food Festival is an event of the Fundación Corazón Verde and we do it to raise funds for our widows and our orphans of the national police heroes. Plus, it's a spectacular excuse to attend and tell our heroes, thank you for what they do for us," added Villada Vélez.
