Brms clarifies sealing of one point in Palu concession area

PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) has clarified reports of the sealing of its gold mine concession area in Palu, Central Sulawesi. The company states that the sealed area has not yet been operated and does not affect ongoing production.

On February 16, 2026, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) issued a press release to clarify media reports about the sealing of its gold mine concession in Palu. Management stated that the coverage was inaccurate and could mislead the public and investment community.

BRMS explained that the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH) sealed one point where illegal miners had opened land without permission. This point is part of the contract managed by its subsidiary, PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM), in Palu, Central Sulawesi. However, the area has not been mined or operated by CPM to date, so the sealing does not impact production activities.

The River Reef gold mine site in Poboya, Palu, operated by CPM using open pit mining, continues to run normally. Additionally, BRMS noted that CPM's gold processing facility is undergoing a capacity upgrade from 500 tons to 2,000 tons of ore per day. This upgrade is targeted for completion in October 2026 and is expected to boost BRMS's gold production that year, subject to operational and technical conditions on site.

"With this press release, we, the management of PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (“BRMS”), provide clarification regarding the inaccurate media reports informing about the sealing of BRMS's gold mine concession in Palu," the company wrote in its statement. This aims to address negative perceptions in the gold mining sector.
