The Directorate General of Taxes has clarified that Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas only provide assistance in specific cases and do not conduct tax inspections or collections.
The Directorate General of Taxes under the Finance Ministry has reaffirmed that full authority over taxpayer compliance supervision rests solely with DJP officers. Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas are asked only to accompany officers in situations requiring special security measures or difficult transport access.
Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations Inge Diana Rismawanti said such assistance has long been part of field visits. She stressed that no new powers have been granted to the regional apparatus.
The clarification follows the issuance of Circular Letter SE-8/PJ/2026 on taxpayer compliance supervision guidelines. DJP also posted on its official Instagram account that the involvement of local elements serves mainly as a witness to procedures already practiced for years.
