EVE Online studio renamed to fenris creations

The Icelandic developer and publisher behind the long-running space MMO EVE Online has changed its name from Crowd Control Protections to Fenris Creations. The move follows years of confusion with the Chinese Communist Party and coincides with the company buying itself back from former owner Pearl Abyss.

Chief executive Hilmar Veigar Pétursson said the rebrand addresses a growing brand collision. He noted that reporters have referred to the studio as the other CCP and that employees have faced questions at US borders over the name. The company chose not to contest the abbreviation with the political organization.
