A Kajiado court has allowed police to hold activist Bob Njagi for seven more days while investigations into treason allegations continue.
The court permitted officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to retain two mobile phones seized from Njagi for forensic analysis. He was arrested on Wednesday in Kitengela and appeared before a magistrate on Thursday.
The magistrate ordered him held at Isinya Police Station for seven days only. He is due back in court on July 2, 2026.
Under Kenyan law, treason can carry the death penalty although sentences are often commuted to life imprisonment.
