Un tribunal de Kajiado maintient Bob Njagi en détention pour sept jours supplémentaires

Un tribunal de Kajiado a autorisé la police à maintenir l'activiste Bob Njagi en détention pendant sept jours supplémentaires, le temps de poursuivre l'enquête sur des allégations de trahison.

Le tribunal a permis aux agents de la Direction des enquêtes criminelles (DCI) de conserver deux téléphones portables saisis sur Njagi pour analyse médico-légale. Il a été arrêté mercredi à Kitengela et a comparu devant un magistrat jeudi.

Le magistrat a ordonné son placement en détention au commissariat d'Isinya pour une durée de sept jours seulement. Il doit comparaître à nouveau devant le tribunal le 2 juillet 2026.

En vertu de la loi kényane, la trahison peut être passible de la peine de mort, bien que les peines soient souvent commuées en prison à vie.
