Le gouvernement Ruto accusé de continuer à défier les décisions de justice

Le président William Ruto avait promis de faire respecter l'État de droit lors de son entrée en fonction en 2022, mais les juges font désormais pression sur les représentants du gouvernement pour qu'ils se conforment aux ordonnances judiciaires dans plusieurs affaires en cours.

L'une des affaires concerne le ministre de la Santé, Aden Duale, et la construction d'un centre d'isolement pour Ebola au camp militaire de Nanyuki, dans le comté de Laikipia. La justice a ordonné l'arrêt du projet, mais le Katiba Institute affirme que les travaux se poursuivent.

M. Duale a nié ces allégations et a déclaré que le gouvernement respectait les décisions de justice. D'autres dossiers portent sur des constructions dans la forêt d'Imenti, dans le comté de Meru, et sur le paiement de plus de 200 millions de shillings à d'anciens soldats.

Le chef de la police, Douglas Kanja, et le président de l'Assemblée nationale, Moses Wetang’ula, ont également fait l'objet d'accusations d'outrage à tribunal dans des affaires distinctes.
