Lido Festival has cancelled its June dates headlined by CMAT and Bombay Bicycle Club, while rescheduling the Maribou State show to August 31. Organisers cited concerns over the condition of Victoria Park grounds following a rainy winter. Tickets for the rescheduled show remain valid, with refunds available for the cancelled dates.
Lido Festival, organised by AEG Presents at Victoria Park in East London, announced the changes to protect the park's grounds. The decision followed advice that the site, improved after last year's dust issues through an extensive reseeding programme, needs more time to settle after an unusually rainy winter. The London Borough of Tower Hamlets supported the move, confirming no impact on community programmes or investments in the park. Organisers stressed that the changes are not the fault of the artists or the borough, with all financial commitments intact. The festival was set for mid-June, with CMAT topping June 12 alongside Father John Misty and Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory; Bombay Bicycle Club on June 14, performing their albums I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose and Flaws, supported by Metronomy, Alice Phoebe Lou, Billie Marten and Lucy Rose; and Maribou State closing on June 20 with Kelis and Folamour. CMAT shared her disappointment on social media, stating: “I am very very sorry to tell you that due to issues with the ground at Victoria Park, Lido Festival has to move to new dates in August, and as a result, I – like others on the bill – am no longer able to play.” She added: “I am truly devastated not to be able to play this festival... for that I can only say sorry.” This comes after Wireless Festival was also pulled this week over a headliner controversy. The inaugural 2025 edition featured Massive Attack, Jamie xx, Charli XCX and others. All Points East remains scheduled for August at the same site.
