Marcus King covers Gregg Allman song with Dan Auerbach

Marcus King and producer Dan Auerbach have recorded a cover of Gregg Allman's 'Come and Go Blues.' The performance was made for an exclusive video tied to the upcoming documentary Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul.

The duo recreated Allman's 1981 solo television performance at Easy Eye Sound Studios in Nashville. Auerbach produced the recording and said King learned the song on the spot despite never having played it before. 'I’ve listened to it a million times since I was a teenager,' Auerbach said. 'When Marcus texted me about this project, he said, “I was thinking about doing that acoustic version that Gregg did on TV,” and I said, “I know exactly what you’re talking about. That’d be so fun.” So, that’s what we did.'
