Norja on nimennyt Sveitsissä pelattaviin jääkiekon maailmanmestaruuskilpailuihin joukkueen, joka on täynnä SHL-osaamista. Joukkue kohtaa Ruotsin alkulohkossa 23. toukokuuta Fribourgissa.

Urheilutoimenjohtaja Patrick Thoresen valitsi turnaukseen yhdeksän norjalaista SHL-pelaajaa. Frölundan maalivahti Tobias Normann palaa joukkueeseen esiinnyttyään viime vuonna Tukholmassa pelatussa turnauksessa. Puolustaja Stian Solberg liittyy joukkueeseen AHL-liigan San Diego Gullsista kerättyään tällä kaudella 24 tehopistettä 71 ottelussa.
