Olivier Theyskens presented his first Boloria ready-to-wear show in Paris on July 5. The collection mixed dramatic evening gowns with everyday tailoring inspired by Belgian aesthetics.
The event took place at the Lycée Carnot garden in Paris. Models wore oversized black and midnight blue taffeta ball gowns alongside bias-cut slips and tailored suits with slightly disheveled details.
Theyskens described the gowns as allegories of vastness and space. He drew on his roots in Brussels and Antwerp for the collection's poetic and gothic elements.
The brand is backed by the Belgian Tomorrowland festival group. Theyskens maintains a studio in Antwerp while continuing his namesake work for private clients.
