Singer Anderson Neiff, known as the 'King of Bregafunk', was shot in the shoulder during a shooting pursuit in São Paulo on Sunday (April 26) after leaving a show venue. He underwent emergency surgery, was discharged, and detailed the incident on social media on Monday (April 27). São Paulo Civil Police is investigating it as attempted homicide.
On Sunday (April 26), the van carrying singer Anderson Neiff and his team was pursued by criminals on motorcycles after leaving a show venue in São Paulo. According to Neiff, the crime was premeditated: a man repeatedly asked the team about their departure time, and suspicious motorcyclists were spotted nearby. The team tried to shake off the attackers but was ambushed, with shots fired at the rear of the vehicle where Neiff was seated.
He was hit by a gunshot to the shoulder — which he described as feeling like 'a punch' — and required emergency surgery. On Monday (April 27), after discharge, Neiff posted on social media: “It was all real. Not a movie scene, not marketing. But thank God I'm okay. I did nothing wrong and hope justice is served". He had already arrived in Recife by 8 a.m., having left São Paulo quickly out of fear, and plans to continue his show schedule.
The van was struck by at least seven shots from three men on motorcycles, per reports. The motive is unknown, and São Paulo Civil Police is working to identify the perpetrators. Neiff updated that he is doing dressings and taking medication, with his arm immobilized.
