South Carolina parents charged in 4-year-old daughter's death

A mother and father from Aiken County are accused of killing their daughter and delaying a missing person report for weeks.

Johmarea Harris, 23, and Michilae Herring, 22, face homicide by child abuse charges in the suspected death of Javeayah Harris. Herring also faces a charge of filing a false police report.

Sheriff Marty Sawyer Jr. said the investigation shows the girl has been dead for at least one month. The probe started after Herring called police on June 30 to report her daughter missing.

Authorities continue to search an undisclosed location outside Aiken County with help from multiple agencies including the FBI. Harris and Herring remain in the Aiken County Jail without bond.
