Two PLA Navy ships to visit Hong Kong for 5-day port call

China’s Ministry of National Defence announced that two PLA Navy vessels will visit Hong Kong waters from July 2 to July 6 to mark the 29th anniversary of the handover.

The guided-missile destroyer Nanning and the guided-missile frigate Hengyang are scheduled to make the port call.

Residents will be able to board the ships after the PLA distributes 14,000 tickets via its WeChat account from June 30 to July 2 on a first-come, first-served basis. Visiting slots are available at 10am, 3pm and 8pm, with the naval base open from 8.30am to 5.30pm on July 4 and July 5.

Some ferry services will be rescheduled or cancelled to accommodate the vessels’ arrival on July 2 and departure on July 6.
