Pontus Andreasson has expressed hope of remaining with Luleå Hockey after his current deal expires. The 27-year-old forward joined the club in 2021 and has become a key player. No formal talks have begun yet.
Andreasson told NSD that he wants the situation to be resolved. "I hope it works out. It would be really fun," he said.
He returned to Sweden after time in North America and chose Luleå despite interest from other SHL teams. He and his partner have settled in the city, with both families developing ties to the club.
Luleå has recently extended contracts for players including Jesper Sellgren and Matteus Ward. Andreasson said this influences his thinking, as he wants to be part of a team aiming to win.
Club official Ulf Engman has signaled a desire to keep the center. Andreasson noted that concrete negotiations have not started, though his agent may have been contacted.
