Borlänge is leading the race to sign forward Martin Karlsson following his departure from Leksand. The 35-year-old spent last season in France after Leksand was relegated from the SHL.
Martin Karlsson played 14 seasons with Leksand between 2015 and 2025. He appeared consistently as a hardworking forward in both the SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan.
After failing to secure a new contract with Leksand, Karlsson moved to Grenoble in the French league for the most recent season. He has expressed a desire to remain in Sweden going forward.
Borlänge sport director Ola Ericsson said the club believes it stands first in line if Karlsson continues at a reasonably high level. Ericsson confirmed ongoing discussions and noted that a deal is possible.
The Hockeyettan club views the potential signing as a prestige acquisition.
