Bethesda Game Studios released detailed updates on July 17 confirming ongoing work on The Elder Scrolls 6 and multiple Fallout projects. The studio also pledged continued support for Starfield amid recent restructuring at Xbox.
In a note from Bethesda Game Studios, the team stated that The Elder Scrolls 6 "is our primary development focus today, with the majority of our team currently working on the next chapter of the franchise." The update added, "The next chapter is on the way. We're where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day."
The studio confirmed that Fallout 5 is now in pre-production on Creation Engine 3. It also announced remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, a new Fallout game developed in collaboration with Obsidian, and a major Fallout 76 expansion titled Raven Rock scheduled for 2027 as a prequel to Fallout 3.
For Starfield, Bethesda reported that the game has reached over 17 million players and nearly a billion hours played. The title "remains an important part of our future," with new stories, gameplay improvements, and Starborn content planned for 2027.
