BJP accuses Kharge family of misusing public land

The BJP has accused Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his family of grabbing public land and transferring it to a private trust with no relevant activities in the allotted fields.

BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari stated that the Siddharth Vihara Trust received several acres of government and industrial land in Bengaluru, Gulbarga and Banashankari for aerospace, defence and Pali research projects.

Bhandari claimed the trust had performed no work in those areas and that the allotments, including five acres by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board in 2024, occurred while the Congress party held power in the state.

Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge responded that his papers are publicly available and questioned why the BJP focuses on the trust rather than other matters after 12 years of central government rule.
