The Bharatiya Janata Party won seven of the 12 seats in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi bypolls, while the Aam Aadmi Party secured three. Congress and the All India Forward Bloc each claimed one seat. The results, declared on December 3, 2025, followed voting on November 30 with a 38.51% turnout.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) bypolls for 12 wards concluded with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dominating by winning seven seats: Dwarka B, Vinod Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Greater Kailash, Dichaon Kalan, Shalimar Bagh-B, and Chandni Chowk. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) retained three seats in Naraina, Mundka, and Dakshin Puri. Congress won Sangam Vihar-A, and the All India Forward Bloc took Chandni Mahal, where the victor is the brother-in-law of former AAP MLA Shoaib Iqbal, who contested after being denied an AAP ticket.
Voting occurred on November 30, 2025, across 580 booths with 51 candidates, including 26 women, and a voter turnout of 38.51%. Chandni Mahal recorded the highest turnout at 55.93%. Counting took place on December 3 at 10 centers, including Kanjhawala and Pitampura.
Previously, nine seats were held by BJP and three by AAP; these vacancies arose after councillors were elected to the Delhi Assembly or Parliament. This marks the first local election since BJP's victory in the February 2025 Delhi Assembly polls.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj reacted on X, stating: “The election was close – The Aam Aadmi Party was at 3, and stayed at 3. Even after resorting to foul play, the BJP came down from 9 to 7. In the first litmus test of a BJP government in Delhi, two things have come to light: The BJP is slipping down…”
Notable margins included BJP's Anita Jain winning Shalimar Bagh-B by 10,101 votes—vacant after Rekha Gupta became Delhi Chief Minister—and AAP's Rajan Arora securing Naraina by 148 votes. In the 250-member MCD House, BJP now holds 116 seats, AAP 99, Indraprastha Vikas Party 15, and Congress 8.
