Brynäs has signed Finnish defenseman Juuso Välimäki to a two-year contract. The 27-year-old returns to Europe after several seasons split between the NHL and AHL.
The club announced the move on June 23. Välimäki has played in North America since the 2018/2019 season and was part of Finland's 4 Nations roster last year. This season he appeared only in the AHL.
Brynäs sports chief Johan Alcén highlighted the player's size, skill and experience at the highest level. He said Välimäki fits the team's identity and will be an important addition for the coming seasons.
The signing marks Välimäki's return to European competition after time in professional North American leagues.
