The Chichén Itzá Archaeological Zone will resume operations this Monday, June 1, following dialogue with artisans.
The Ministry of Culture announced that the site will open in its regular hours from 08:00 to 16:00.
The temporary closure stemmed from a protest by artisans conducting commercial activities nearby. The talks involved the National Institute of Anthropology and History, the Government of Yucatán and the Municipality of Tinum.
The agreements aim to strengthen the preservation of cultural heritage, promote orderly tourism and contribute to the well-being of local communities. The federal agency recognized the willingness to dialogue shown by the artisans during the negotiations.
