A 45-year-old Hungarian woman was found dead on Tuesday with signs of violence in a home in Benahavís (Málaga). The Civil Guard is investigating the case as possible machista violence and has activated a search for the alleged perpetrator.
A person alerted emergency services after hearing a loud scream and seeing a man leave the scene hurriedly by car. Civil Guard officers and a mobile ICU unit went to the home and found the victim's body, which had a neck wound caused by a bladed weapon.
The Ministry of Equality has indicated that the case is being investigated as machista violence, like three other incidents in the last 24 hours in different locations. The victim was registered in the VioGén system, although her case was no longer active.
The Government delegate against Gender Violence, Carmen Martínez Perza, has called on society to watch for possible victims to prevent them from feeling alone. The body will be transferred to the Legal Medicine Institute for the autopsy.
