The Congress is holding a press conference in Delhi on Tuesday to raise questions about alleged misappropriation of donation funds for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The move follows the start of a probe by a special investigation team set up by the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday. UP Congress president Ajay Rai and MLA Aradhana Misra are travelling to the capital to speak at the party’s Akbar Road office.
Party sources indicated that the event aims to press the issue with the governments in both Lucknow and Delhi. The controversy has prompted internal discussions within the All India Congress Committee about ending its silence on the matter.
The press conference comes months ahead of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
