Dave Grohl recalls breaking leg during Foo Fighters Sweden show

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl reflected on breaking his leg onstage exactly 11 years earlier during a concert in Sweden on June 12.

The band performed at Strawberry Arena in Solna as part of their Take Cover tour. Grohl spoke to the crowd while introducing the song Walk, noting the coincidence of returning to the country on the same date.

"I fell off the stage and I bust my fucking leg," he said. "That was 11 years ago today. Same day! How fucking weird is that. Coincidence? I don’t think so!"

Grohl described the 2015 incident at Gothenburg’s Ullevi Stadium as his favourite Foo Fighters show. He praised the band for finishing the performance after the accident, which led to cancellations including their Glastonbury headline slot that year.

The group resumed touring weeks later with Grohl performing from a throne. Their new album Your Favorite Toy was released in April.
