David Harbour, known for 'Stranger Things,' has joined the cast of 'John Rambo' in the role of Major Trautman. The film, a prequel to the Sylvester Stallone franchise, stars Noah Centineo as the titular character and is directed by Jalmari Helander. Variety confirmed the casting news.
David Harbour will portray Rambo’s commanding officer, Major Trautman, in 'John Rambo,' the origin story set before 1982’s 'First Blood.' Noah Centineo leads as John Rambo, a Vietnam veteran and Special Forces soldier who becomes the last surviving member of his unit. Though traumatized by his experiences, Rambo develops skills used against corrupt police and drug cartels in the franchise. The screenplay comes from Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, with Jalmari Helander of 'Sisu' directing. Variety has confirmed the details. Production on 'John Rambo' has wrapped in Thailand.
