Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed preparations for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, directing officials to ensure strict security protocols after the paper leak incident.
On Tuesday, Pradhan chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi attended by senior officials including Vineet Joshi, Sanjay Kumar, Abhishek Singh and Rahul Singh. He stressed that all gaps in the earlier process must be addressed to guarantee integrity and transparency.
The National Testing Agency cancelled the original May 3 exam on May 12 after discovering overlaps with leaked questions. The CBI has arrested 10 people so far, including coaching centre founder Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar and two NTA panel members.
Pradhan directed coordination with district magistrates and police across states. He also called for adequate student facilities at centres. The NTA has changed all question setters and translators for the re-test and appointed new leadership to strengthen oversight.
