Department of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda denied reports that he had resigned, as rumors of cabinet changes under President Marcos continued to spread.
Aguda issued a statement rejecting the claims and describing them as false reports and speculation. He said such rumors highlight the ongoing issue of disinformation, which his department has been working to combat. Aguda added that he continues to serve at the pleasure of the president and remains committed to his role.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla also dismissed similar rumors about his position. He stated that he serves at the pleasure of President Marcos and is leaving decisions about his role to the president.
Speculation has extended to the Department of Budget and Management, with unconfirmed reports suggesting Kim Robert de Leon could replace acting Secretary Rolando Toledo. Analysts have cautioned that sudden leadership shifts during economic uncertainty may carry risks, though they stressed the need for continuity and transparency in public spending. The Philippines recorded 2.8 percent economic growth in the first quarter of 2026.
