Walt Disney Imagineering has filed nine Notice of Commencement permits for the Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The permits, all for electrical work, list Pro Audio Video Inc. as the contractor and cover locations including the Indiana Jones ride and Encanto attraction sites. This marks continued progress in transforming the former DinoLand USA area into Pueblo Esperanza.
Work continues on the Tropical Americas-themed land, known as Pueblo Esperanza, which will replace DinoLand USA. The permits target specific sites such as the Indiana Jones ride, the Encanto ride, the former Chester & Hester’s gift shop, the former Donald Duck meet-and-greet area, Restaurantosaurus, the upcoming carousel, and the land’s entrance. Pro Audio Video Inc., which has contributed to projects like Test Track 3.0 and transformations at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, handles the electrical scope for all nine permits. The expansion plans include three new attractions: a carousel featuring Disney animals, a rethemed DINOSAUR ride as Indiana Jones with an original story distinct from Disneyland’s version, and the first Encanto-themed ride taking guests through the Madrigal family’s magical casita. Additional features will encompass dining, shopping, and likely meet-and-greets. No official opening date has been announced.
