Capcom has confirmed that Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside other platforms on October 9. The port runs at a minimum of 30 frames per second, with many scenes exceeding that rate.
Producer Naoto Oyama said the RE Engine has proven effective for Switch 2 development. He noted that performance work on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will also benefit the Switch 2 edition.
A late August title update aims to bring Performance Mode to 60 frames per second on consoles. Oyama added that the Switch 2 version is already exceeding expectations.
Director Kenta Kinoshita stated he has worked on the series since the original Dragon's Dogma. He expressed confidence in continuing its legacy after Hideaki Itsuno left Capcom in August 2024.
Oyama said Capcom structures its teams to avoid reliance on any single creator.
