Elon Musk says Tesla FSD will accept verbal orders in three months

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that Full Self-Driving software will soon accept conversational voice commands through Grok. The update is scheduled to arrive in about three months.

Musk responded on X to a Tesla owner who suggested that drivers should be able to converse with the car like they would with an Uber driver. Examples included commands such as “Hey Grok, turn right here” and “Drop us off right here, we’ll walk due to traffic.”

Musk replied that the functionality will be there in about three months or so. The feature would allow real-time guidance to influence FSD’s planning and execution, including lane changes and parking maneuvers.

Tesla already permits some natural-language navigation requests through Grok, but those currently affect only the routing layer. The planned update would extend voice inputs to the primary driving system and is expected alongside automated parking preference memory.
