Formula 1's pre-season testing for the 2026 campaign differs from recent years, which featured only a single three-day event in Bahrain. The expansion accommodates the introduction of new power unit regulations, allowing teams more preparation time.
The first test runs from January 26 to 30 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This five-day, behind-closed-doors session permits each team three days of running. Daily sessions begin at 9am local time (CET) and end at 5pm, with potential extension by one hour depending on daylight.
Williams has announced it will not participate in this Barcelona test.
Following Barcelona, two three-day tests take place at the Bahrain International Circuit. The second overall test occurs from February 11 to 13, and the third from February 18 to 20. These Bahrain sessions, serving as the final pre-season activities, run from 10am to 7pm local time (AST) each day, providing nine hours of track time.
This structured approach ensures teams adapt to the regulatory changes before the March season start in Melbourne.
