A road rage incident unfolded in Delhi's Dwarka when a car returning from a concert grazed another vehicle, leading to a scuffle captured in a viral video. Delhi Police registered an FIR based on the complaint, tracing the accused involved. The video claimed the occupants were rushing a pregnant woman to the hospital, but police dismissed it as an attempt to sensationalize the event.
On the night of November 2, advocate Rohit, along with another man and two women, was returning from singer Talwinder’s concert in Dwarka Sector 10. Around 10.30 pm, their Punjab-registered car, allegedly driven on the wrong side of the road, grazed another vehicle amid heavy traffic near the concert venue. This sparked a heated argument between the parties, captured on camera and circulated online.
The one-minute-long video showed a man identified as Puneet from the second vehicle slamming his wrist on the bonnet of Rohit’s car, kicking the driver’s side door, and using abusive language. The person who posted the video captioned it claiming his brother-in-law, a Military Engineering Services personnel, was trying to take his pregnant wife to a nearby hospital for a routine check-up. He admitted driving on the wrong side but alleged no one helped them and no FIR was filed against the aggressor.
Delhi Police registered an FIR on November 3 at Dwarka South police station based on Rohit’s complaint, under charges of voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, and mischief of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said, “Initially, (Puneet’s) car was traced to a registered address in Gurgaon but he could not be found there… Later, Puneet was traced along with two others present in his car… The complainant reported no injury, and due legal action is being taken against those found responsible.” The police stated the video's claims were incorrect and aimed to “sensationalise” the incident.
