Flood hits 35 neighborhoods in South Jakarta due to heavy rain

Flooding has struck 35 neighborhoods in South Jakarta with water levels of 30-70 centimeters due to heavy rainfall in DKI Jakarta and surrounding areas. The DKI Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has deployed personnel to monitor flooding conditions. The flood has also submerged one road.

On Wednesday (October 29), flooding struck 35 neighborhoods (RT) in South Jakarta due to heavy rain across DKI Jakarta and surrounding areas. Water levels ranged from 30-70 centimeters, caused by high rainfall and overflows from local rivers.

Mohamad Yohan, Head of the Data and Information Center of the DKI Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), stated, "We are deploying personnel to monitor flooding conditions in every area." He added that water levels rose at several monitoring posts, including Pos Pesanggrahan reaching alert/standby three at 5:00 PM WIB, Pos Angke Hulu also at alert/standby three at the same time, and Pintu Air Pulo Gadung at a similar level.

The most affected areas include Petogogan Subdistrict with 26 RT flooded to 30 cm due to heavy rain and overflow from Kali Krukut, and Pela Mampang Subdistrict with 9 RT flooded to 70 cm from rain and Kali Mampang overflow. Additionally, one road on Jl. Puri Mutiara V, RT 009 RW 011, Cilandak Barat, Cilandak, is submerged to 10 cm due to the same factors.

BPBD records show the flooding is limited to 35 RT and one road, with monitoring efforts underway to prevent further spread.
