Fredrik Claesson, a 33-year-old Swedish defenceman, produced seven points in 50 games for Dynamo Moskva during the recently completed season. According to Russian outlet Sport-Express, he will leave the club when his one-year contract expires at the end of May. Shanghai Dragons and Traktor Tjeljabinsk have shown interest in signing him for the upcoming 2026/27 KHL campaign, though no deal has been confirmed yet. His departure marks the end of a four-year stint in Russian hockey, where he played 238 KHL games and tallied 45 points overall. Claesson first joined the KHL with CSKA Moskva in 2022, winning the Gagarin Cup in 2023 despite the ongoing war in Ukraine. He switched to city rival Dynamo Moskva for the current season. Before Russia, Claesson appeared in 170 NHL games across five teams—Ottawa Senators, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, San Jose Sharks, and Tampa Bay Lightning—and 82 SHL games with Djurgården. He also won gold at the 2012 World Junior Championship with Sweden.
