Gentle Monster follows Lucy, an experimental pianist played by Léa Seydoux, and her husband Philip, portrayed by Laurence Rupp. The couple relocates with their young son to a farmhouse in Bavaria seeking a calmer life after Philip suffers panic attacks. Their plans unravel when Munich police seize the family's devices and arrest Philip on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography, including images of their son.
