Grupo Éxito announces senior management changes

Grupo Éxito reported changes to its executive team with the departure of Carlos Mario Giraldo as general manager after more than 18 years. Juan Lucas Vega Palacio will take the role starting July 1, 2026.

Carlos Mario Giraldo will lead the company until June 30, 2026, after informing the board of directors of his decision in April. During his tenure the company consolidated innovations such as the Wow and Fresh Market formats, along with a digital business that accounts for nearly 14% of sales in Colombia. Giraldo noted that he leaves a solid organization and leader in the commerce sector. He also mentioned growth in apparel with own brands and leadership in shopping centers with Viva Envigado. In addition Paula Sanabria Campos was named Chief Commercial Officer and Juan Camilo Suárez was named Chief Digital & Technology Officer. Sanabria has 26 years of retail experience and Suárez has more than 28 years in digital transformation.
