The pre-agreement reading hearing against Sergio Israel Rojas Serrano was postponed on May 22, 2026. The defendant faces charges for the death of Juan Carlos García Sastoque and injuries to César Augusto García Sastoque in Neiva.
Judge Catalina María Manrique Calderón rescheduled the hearing for June 12, 2026. The postponement followed an Inpec report stating that Rojas Serrano violated house arrest on May 9, 2026.
Victims’ lawyer Néstor Pérez Gasca said the defendant “continúa haciendo una burla tanto para la sociedad neivana como para la justicia”. Under the pre-agreement, Rojas Serrano accepted a 60-month prison term, a fine of 72 minimum wages and a 70-month driving ban.
The accident took place on November 3, 2024, in Neiva when Rojas Serrano struck the García Sastoque brothers with a Ford Mustang. Juan Carlos García Sastoque died and César Augusto suffered permanent injuries.
