Mainit na debate sa Kamara sa 'budol' na anti-dynasty bill

Pinapayagan din ng panukala ang pamilya na mag-nominate ng kandidato para sa national, provincial, municipal o city post, at maraming congressional positions nang sabay. Ayon kay Erice, hindi ito magbabago ng monopolyo ng kapangyarihan sa mga lugar na pinamumunuan ng dynasties. Ipinagtanggol ni Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, chairperson ng suffrage committee, na “Monopoly (occurs) when the power to appoint resides to and is exercised by one person. That is monopoly. But we allow people to vote.” Nagtaas ng boses si Erice nang banggitin niya ang pinakamataas na budget share sa districts ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s cousin Martin Romualdez at son Sandro Marcos. Pinayuhan siya ni Deputy Speaker Raymond Mendoza na ibaba ang boses: “May I remind the gentleman to bring down the decibels a bit. Shouting will not do us an advantage here.”
