Indie films open in limited release on June 26

Several independent films debuted in select theaters on June 26, including A24's comedy The Invite and Vertical's Couture starring Angelina Jolie.

A24 launched The Invite on seven screens in New York and Los Angeles. The film, directed by and starring Olivia Wilde, features Seth Rogen, Ed Norton and Penélope Cruz. It follows two couples whose dinner plans unravel badly.

Vertical released Couture in 235 theaters. Angelina Jolie stars as an American filmmaker navigating Paris during Fashion Week. The drama premiered at TIFF.

Roadside Attractions opened the WWII thriller Lucky Strike on 772 screens. Scott Eastwood leads the cast in the story of a soldier behind enemy lines during the Battle of the Bulge.

Other limited releases included Romeria from Janus Films and Drunken Noodles from Strand Releasing, both expanding in the coming weeks.
