Israel's defence minister Israel Katz has criticised Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal for waving a Palestinian flag during the club's La Liga title celebrations. The 18-year-old was seen holding the flag on an open-top bus during Monday's victory parade in Barcelona. Katz accused Yamal of inciting hate against Israel.
The teenager held a large Palestinian flag while travelling through the city with teammates. Local authorities reported around 750,000 supporters attended the parade after Barcelona secured the league title the previous day. Yamal, who is Muslim, later shared images of the moment on Instagram.
